Property ref: CR941
Maximum: 8 adults plus 0 child/children
We truly believe this is one of the most special properties in our portfolio
Built in 1936 the property survived two wars almost unscathed thanks to the dedication of the original owner and her loyal maid, whose grandchildren now run the estate. The original owners were members of the aristocracy and their house was renowned for its memorable parties. The history of the property is amazing and spans generations of one family's happiness and grief.
Today the villa offers the ultimate in luxury and comfort, with every detail carefully thought out and executed. It has been cleverly furnished in eclectic style, using contemporary décor and furniture by famous Croatian designers.
There is a freshwater swimming pool surrounded by a spacious terrace which has an enchanting view of the Old Town. Next to the pool are several comfortable loungers and a teak dining table seating six – the perfect place for al fresco dining.
After dinner guests can withdraw to the “smoking room” which connects to the dining room which has an extensive collection of wines of the region. There is also a professional kitchen – if you wish we can arrange a cook to prepare some of Nonna’s (grandma’s) recipes.
The suite on the first floor has a spacious salon opening onto a terrace which has stunning views of the island of Lokrum and the Old Town of Dubrovnik. The salon leads to the dining room and there is a working service elevator to bring food up from the kitchen. There is a double bedroom with the most amazingly comfortable bed!
There are two suites on the second floor. The first is bright and airy and is dominated by a large and very comfortable bed. It has a balcony with impressive views of Lokrum Island and the Old Town. Hidden behind a wall of sanded glass is an amazing turquoise, mosaic tiled bathroom with a luxurious bath and shower. The second suite has a bedroom with a king size bed and the same fantastic views. There is a pretty green, mosaic tiled bathroom.
There is a two person sauna on the second floor (a masseuse can be arranged at an extra cost) along with a guest shower room and the “Mirror Room” which has a luxurious bathroom which connects to the attic suite via a spiral staircase.
The attic is futuristic and is decorated entirely in white with a king size bed and ensuite shower room.
The villa is surrounded by terraces brimming with aromatic herbs and spices, which guests can pick to turn an ordinary salad into something quite spectacular.

"We highly recommend a walk around the walls of Dubrovnik. For around 200 Kuna, you can walk the entire circumference of the city, taking in the spectacular views of the terracotta roofs, interesting architecture, stunning gardens and, of course, the Adriatic Sea beyond. The sea sparkles a beautiful blue and is practically transparent to the sea bed, apparently down to the high salt content, making it very unique indeed."
"Eating out in the Old Town, or just outside the walls, can be pricey, especially when the establishments boast such sensational views! However, it is possible to find cheaper places to eat and it is worth exploring the different areas of Dubrovnik such as Gruz and Lapad where you will find many more restaurants and bars to enjoy."
